Our Retreats

We host three retreats each year and aim to secure affordable accommodations at dude ranches. Each retreat spans four days including travel and combines high-quality RACE-approved continuing education (CE) with networking, fun, and relaxation. 

Attendance is limited to around 30 participants to encourage meaningful connections that extend beyond the retreat. Attendees gain access to resources from all past and future retreats, as well as a private chat group with previous participants. This group offers a supportive space to discuss clinical cases, professional challenges, personal topics, and wellness concerns. Many past participants continue to connect at other conferences and on personal trips.

  • Cowgirl CE Retreats are small-group continuing education events that combine high-quality CE sessions with a relaxed, supportive environment that encourages networking, personal growth, and fun.

  • We’d love to have you join us!  Registration is by invitation only.  If you’re interested in attending a retreat, simply email cowgirlceretreats@cowgirlce.com 

    Please do not contact venues directly — they do not handle registrations or housing for our events.  

  • Our retreats are open to women veterinarians who work predominantly with food animals and horses. Some special topic retreats may be open to veterinary technicians and practice managers.   

  • Each retreat offers 8 hours of RACE-approved continuing education in a classroom setting +/- hands on labs (exact number varies by event). Topics range from large animal internal medicine, surgery, preventive health, practice management to wellness.   

  • Your registration includes:

    • All CE sessions

    • Printed and/or digital notes and materials

    • Access to the retreat community for networking before and after the event

    Lodging includes meals.  Please check the specific retreat details for activity options.

  • We keep our retreats small — usually 25-35 participants — to foster genuine connections and personalized learning.

  • Rooms are reserved for CE attendees only unless cleared by retreat organizers.

  • Refunds and transfer options depend on the timing of your cancellation and the event’s policies. Full details are provided at registration.

  • We recommend:

    • Comfortable clothing and footwear for both indoor learning and outdoor activities

    • Notebook or tablet for CE sessions

    • Weather-appropriate gear (check the forecast before travel)

    A detailed packing list will be sent to registered participants.

  • Yes! We plan optional excursions, social gatherings, and networking opportunities so you can relax, recharge, and build friendships.

  • Participants are invited to join our private chat group, making it easy to continue sharing ideas, advice, and encouragement year-round.
